Many dresses that were popular in the 1950’s were what you would expect to see on a cake-topper, slender bodices with a fuller skirt. While modesty still played a part in many brides wedding day attire with dresses featuring high collars and long sleeves, the less conservative bride would opt for a strapless dress with a coordinating Bolero jackets that could be removed following the ceremony.
