Wedding Dress Fashion - 1960's

Stepping into the 1960’s, A-line silhouettes replaced the full-skirts of the ‘50s and empire waists became the most popular cut for a bride. Sweetheart necklines and long sleeves were replaced by high necks, three-quarter lengths and capped sleeves. The Space Age also had influences in bridal fashion, as décor and bridal accessories took on metallic embellishments.

Wedding Dress Fashion - 1950's

Many dresses that were popular in the 1950’s were what you would expect to see on a cake-topper, slender bodices with a fuller skirt. While modesty still played a part in many brides wedding day attire with dresses featuring high collars and long sleeves, the less conservative bride would opt for a strapless dress with a coordinating Bolero jackets that could be removed following the ceremony.
