Eco-friendly or Biodegradable Confetti

Gone are the days of throwing rice at the end of a ceremony, enter in a new up-and-comer to the wedding processional… eco-friendly confetti!

Eco-friendly or biodegradable confetti is meant to mimic the look of rice for that picture-perfect moment of the guests showering the couple in white or multi-coloured rain as they exit down the aisle. There are many different types of biodegradable confetti including eco-friendly tissue, dried flower petals and leaves, and water-soluble confetti.

There are several different brands of confetti, an example being Ecofetti, a US-based company (link below), as well there are some that you can make yourself, but keep in mind that not all confetti are eco-friendly. The Catalyst Wedding Co, a U.S based website, posted an article about 9 do’s and don’ts for eco-friendly wedding confetti (link below) that is a good guide for couples looking to use confetti. Our Organic Wedding, a blog dedicated to educating couples about organic and eco-friendly ways they can celebrate their big day has posted a list of alternative solutions for couples who are looking to do a memorable sendoff (link below).

If this idea intrigues you like something you wish to incorporate into your nuptials, I recommend that you check out the links below and do a little research on the options available to you.
